CPPFES2005A -Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment

This unit of competency specifies the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment. It includes demonstrating and explaining how to correctly and safely use portable fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blankets in emergency situations.

The unit is suitable for those with basic skills and knowledge undertaking routine work tasks under the direction of more experienced workers.

All students are required to complete a Theory component of the course as well as a Practical assessment. The Practical assessment will be conducted in the Bullex Fire Safety Trailer

Work in this area must be completed according to relevant legislative, industry, customer and organisational requirements, including Occupational / Workplace Health & Safety (OHS/WHS) policies and procedures.

Different states and territories may have regulatory mechanisms that apply to this unit

  • Fitness to Participate
  • Sufficient language literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course
